Property in California is starting to look attractive to me. It would be nice to see it go down a bit more though, as interest rates rise and the reality of the colossal debts and deficits continues to gain in consciousness.

In 2005 and 2006 when I had a look around southern California, property prices were about double what seemed reasonable. 6 years later, prices are apparently back down to somewhere more reasonable.

But residency is an issue. Apparently Americans would rather have hordes of bludging illegal immigrants than a few self-paying Kiwis who wouldn't even block the roads in rush hour living there for a few months a year during southern winters.
