This is an often-overlooked point, but one that is quite obviously true on its face.

If he had KNOWN there were no WMD there were plenty of other good reasons for the invasion. He would certainly have known that if WMD were NOT found it would be highly destructive for his presidency. Thus, by any reasonable expectation, had he KNOWN there were no WMD, he would have made some other reason the basis for the invasion. Not to mention he had been advised by his CIA director it was a "slam dunk".

People who claim he went to war under false pretenses are being far more out of touch with reality than, for example, the birthers.

Bush knew because Blix reported it to the world.....the final report two weeks before the invasion.....don't act stupid.
