John & Goldsnow: What do you make of Greenspan's last statement regarding Gold, in which he said Gold was a "useful tool" and an "indicator" regarding inflation. (Goldsnow's post) Don't you think it is a bit disingenuous, considering the manipulation that all central banks are engaged in? When these CB's, one at a time announce or dump gold, especially at times like these, they know what impact it has on the markets, don't you agree? We all know the history, Canada, Australia, Netherlands, Swiss scare, Germany, did I miss any?

Are these guys leading events or simply reacting? Is the POG simply a matter of supply and demand? Are they manipulating the demand? Or are they just the honest disinterested brokers, caught up in events?

Phil, still trying to figure it all out.

Right you are concerning the ownership of the FED, John. If anyone doubts
this, check out how Black's Law Dictionary defines the Federal Reserve.
