How old is the notebook? If the MB is fried, a replacement may not be available.

However, you may be able to save your data by putting your C: in a USB enclosure, unless True Image started the restore procedure, that would delete the C: partition and the only way to get your data would be data recovery services.

Check the manual very carefully. I don't believe that you can safely plug your UPS into anything but a wall plug and that you definitely can't plug surge protectors into UPS systems without voiding the guarantee or any insurance offered by their manufacturer.
