Hi Terry,

I suspect they might not have looked at the background levels to determine if there was enough there to provide the needs for the carrots without anything -- they might just have assumed that there was not enough. Likely there was more "residual" than they knew about and it provided adequate nutrients -- hence rendering the test ineffectual.
