I think O may have been a little naive believing that a little grass roots community organizing would enable him to solve whatever problems may lie ahead. As a green senator, he had no clue what he was up against. He certainly wasn't privy to the depth and size and strength of the old school political machine. His indoctrination was given at the post election, pre-inaugural meetings. And now it's business as usual. Bush had his father to school him and pave the road. His bloodline also gave him MUCH more power from day one.
