Apple hasn't answered questions about the precision of their user GEO tracking (complete history, with time stamps, synced to PC and perhaps to Cupertino). Posting a link to some blog doesn't change that. If one were to me make the unfounded assumption that this was low precision data, do you think this would make it OK??? What precision would you consider acceptable? Are you saying then that if the data were in high precision, it would not be OK??? Do you think your iPhone geo-tracking data is not significant to law enforecement, current or ex-spouses, etc? Do you realize that permanently storing this data makes both your phone and your home PC a definite source of evidence, versus an evidentiary fishing expidition, should you fall under suspicion, be arrested or go to trial for various matters? You are being foolish if you think this is OK, and making vacuous attempts to impugn Apple's competition is very typical but also devoid of comparison. Google and Microsoft have already answered questions regarding the term and means of storing this data. Their answers already reflect that Apple is is living under a different standard, and quite possibly one that is at odds with section 222 of the Communications Act. Why do think Apple hasn't yet answered the questions from the Senators on this, while Google and Microsoft have?
