Ali; Intel did indeed kil people, where is the 8088 now, if not dead, old and ready to go. The false and misleading benchmarking gave the impression that the older 'children' were slow, and should be killed off, but they did not really need them. I see that as an upper management gamble of desperation for some reason. All computer makers need to force obsolescencem software makers too. They have found a way. Call it software bloat. The old hard drives, CPU etc are no longer useable, "BLOAT SELLS BOXES", of software and computers.
How many fortune 500 companies have stayed with Win 3.11? as they see this aspect, and refuse to commit their desktops to it?
Apple did indeed choose to burrow into the mud. It may never see open water again.
AMD was flat in general. I once saw a graph of AMD in constant dollars and it was flat at $1 billion for 6-8 years within 10-20% that is.
You seem to know a lot about frogs.
