OrionX: It is pretty interesting how "selective" these accusations are…

Is this like Greenpeace singling out Apple's use of "dirty" electricity for their data farm in NC in order to make a broader point? Or is Apple's case legitimately different?

It seems it was about a day before these accusations started that there was another story indicating that police were accessing data from citizen's mobile phones.

I'm yet to see anyone demonstrate that there was any tracking of the phone's location - only cell and wifi antenna coordinates, an accuracy of less than 500m.

Unsure why Apple isn't trying to get ahead of this story. Reminds me of their reaction to Antennagate.

If you are using an iPod Touch, they know more than a carrier or ISP. It wouldn't be that interesting if the info were tied to a single device. That Apple is storing the user tracking data across multiple device generations and platforms for some reason is the interesting part...
