True. The problem with telecomms in North America is that it needs to be re-thought completely, in terms of structure and economics.

On another thread, I've published research proving that NO country has ever instituted successful improvement in telecomms without policy change. "Get out of the box."

Telecomms incumbency is a problem that's baffled many nations. As el matador famously remarked elsewhere, incumbents "Kill to live, and live to kill."

However on the flip side, nations such as South Korea and Japan successfully addressed the problem by re-asserting the public interest, and subordinating incumbents to that interest. As is well known South Korea and Japan have some of the best and most cost-effective telecomms in the world, with very high rates of throughput and relaibility.
