I was already missing her when she had to cut back on posting because of her condition.... She could no longer type and used Dragon to post.

I'm really going to miss her clarity not to mention she was one fine lady.

Condolences to her husband.

This is sad and while somewhat off topic but related to ALS, and apologies to Bill:

For the past year and one half I have been in a battle with the main stream medical community, insurance companies and school system as my daughter battles Lyme disease and another Tick borne disease called Babesia.

The reason I bring this up is in my reading there has been more than one ALS diagnosed patient that ended up having Lyme and once treated for Lyme the ALS symptoms went into remission.

Not to go into the controversy of diagnosing and treating Lyme disease some here may be interested in watching the videos below on the misdiagnosis (ALS, Parkinsons, MS):

Some video’s on the controversy.

If you watch this video you can see some of the miss diagnosis.

Oh wow. What a shock. I've had some very pleasant conversations with her over the years here, both public and private. I had no idea she suffered with ALS. It certainly didn't slow her down here (until recently)! So sad for the family and friends who loved her.

A terrible loss -- one of SI's finest writers. I occasionally responded inadequately to one of her posts, and she never failed to acknowledge my response, sometimes with a "Smooch!" PM. :)

Jim,

Words cannot begin to express my sorrow...

She was a brilliant and charming lady who stood strong in her convictions.

She always had kind words for me in our conversations.

I remember when we all met in Las Vegas, fondly.

Once again, SI has become a lesser place.

May you find Peace

Daniel

The world was a better place because of Marie. I just loved her spunk and go get em attitude. She is one of the smartest and most astute women I've ever encountered.

I will miss her lively and intelligent commentary, and I am deeply saddened.

My heartfelt condolences to you and her family.

My husband lost his sister just a few years ago to ALS and we know first hand the hardships and cruelty this devastating disease can bring. We are still involved with the ALS Assn, Orange County Chapter.

Dear Jim~
I'm so very sorry. We all know the contribution MPH made to SI, and loved her for that contribution, as well as the bright mind and warm caring individual behind the keys. We all have to leave someday ~~ but leaving on Easter hopefully will help lessen the pain for all who knew her must feel. May the many Recs here bring her smiles in Heaven. My Sincere Sympathy to you and all of her family.

MPH was an exceptionally bright and an inspirational contributor. Many had no idea how difficult it was for her to continue postings, yet she always did so and brightened our days. Her spirit was so very strong and I know I learned quite a lot from not only her postings but her personal strengths.

I will miss her very much...

So many memories with Marie and you. Dinner at JXM's, sailing, Hold 'Em in Vegas, breakfast in Hollywood when JXN was an infant.

Marie's the gold standard for intelligence, charm, wit, beauty, and a lovely personality. We are all richer for knowing her whether in 2D or 3D.

May God hold her in the palm of His hand.

My deepest condolences to all on the passing of mph. She was truly one of SI's most respected and beloved posters, on an equal plane with the dearly departed and respected Edwarda.

Though mph and I only rarely exchanged posts and PMs, I found her to be both intelligent and pleasant. She was technical analysis to my fundamental analysis. She enjoyed her years of posting here on SI, and I for one, enjoyed reading her posts. I will miss her.

My one regret regarding mph is that I never met her. I wish that I had known of the Las Vegas getaway some years ago now, so that I could have met her and others in an environment of pleasantry, where all could thrive. Perhaps someday soon, the denizens of our virtual community will once again gather in Nevada to celebrate and kindle or rekindle virtual friendships.

Rest in Peace mph...

EK!!!

I just now caught up on SI happenings.

My sincere condolences on the loss of MPH.

We chatted both publicly and privately behind the scenes.

She was a very bright and classy lady with a warm sense of humor.

If there are Post Grubbers in Heaven, they're in for some mighty fine competition.

RIP, MPH. You are missed.
