Good detective work AT.

I did find something that you missed though. Seems as though this Frank Trust is dumping more A-Pee-Em shares again, see below, it's on Edgar. I'm still hanging around waiting for a good short point. That WDC news is good for the shorts, I bet they serve up another nice Sh*t burger for this quarter too. They'll have to write off all that TFI and what will they have left, MR that doesn't work??? I'm glad I got out at 26!!!!! Whew.

Rob

I wonder how this came about? "Uh-honey? It doesn't look good, dump it all!!!"

It's pretty clear now. APM will undergo a crash program to convert completely to MR and spend plenty of bucks to do it. Short term their earnings will be down or non existent. Long term they will probably recover any lost business from RDRT since it is in the interest of the WD and others to have multiple suppliers. The high margins that attracted many of us to APM in the first place were at least partly due to money not being spent on the conversion.

I think it is best to wait a quarter before getting back into this stock no matter how low the price goes.

the information that you received relative to R&D for APM vs RDRT is incorrect. RDRT spent 5.2% of net sales in last qtr of fy1997 and 5.4% in same qtr Fy 1996

APM spent 12.7% of sales in 3rd qtr 1997 and 16.7% for same qtr 1996, reduction qtr to qtr due to dramatic increase in sales.

Inspection of recent 10Q for both companies shows me that APM is the stronger of the two.

something else is either going on or you misunderstood what she told you.

Re your >>>WDC and APM joined at the hip for how much longer?

Wholly agree. But I took my lumps and bailed out of big positions of *both* APM and WDC (and took my biggest one-day loss ever!).

Still holding my RDRT, QNTM, HMTT, and INVX dish drivers.
(and please--nobody has to correct my spelling.)

WDC looks good to me, but timing does not seem exactly right at this moment. Waiting for a good BUY signal on it like a bounce
off 19 5/8 for a double bottom.
