Allen, you have a great point. The beauty of Iomega's plan to market these drives to the consumer in the beginning is that as soon as they hit the market, the clik! drives will start stealing sales from the flash card makers. Most flash memory digital camera owners (with ports that connect to the clik! drive) will immediately turn away from buying any extra flash cards once they realize the breakeven point for owning the clik! drive instead.
I don't fully understand the technology yet, but wouldn't it be cool if Iomega had some way to interface the clik! drive to the flash type digital cameras so that the the camera didn't even need the flash card ( sort of a flash card look-a-like that connects to the input of the clik! drive). Then the "prospective" camera purchaser would have the option to omit the first high priced flash card, thus going toward that breakeven point earlier in the game.
