Upgrades to bring new level of gaming
Over the next several months, the top game console suppliers will be positioning to build on the successes of their current systems. Their next releases will include some standard performance upgrades, but a few surprises are doubtless in the works, as well.

Electronic Gaming Monthly reports that Sony has already been showing PlayStation Type C, which will feature 8M of RAM and a 4M plug-in module, to developers. And the PlayStation 64, which will feature a 64-bit processor and a DVD drive, is set for a late 1999 launch.
