well no fear.. I'm not voting that way... Cabbie I had in Montreal yesterday... Yes we are going to give NDP a chance.. my whole family... but Quebec is where they are really surging... Bloc for NDP switch probably OK... This might be election where Liberals are destroyed like the old Progressive Conservative party... ?? naw.. people hated old PCs in the end... Liberals they just do not like... OTOH if Ontario NDP steal Liberal votes here... watch out... .

BC's economy did really well under some NDP governments, others, not. Every political party made major economic mistakes. en.wikipedia.org What may be happening across Canada is a backlash against neoliberal economics, increasing income disparity and corporate capture of media, the message, and government. "Economic efficiency" has put millions of Americans in the poorhouse, while enriching the financial sector and corporations at public expense. "Read my lips - NO TAXES" put generations of Americans in debt, and socialization of corrupt financial and corporate sector losses has added to the crippling burden. Lately, Canadian government debt and deficits have been increasing again - not being cut, as in the previous decade. There's no reason Canadians should follow these ruinous economic and political policies. Canadian politics need not degenerate to irrational polarization and hatred driven by neocons and neolibs: we don't need Fox North and the divisiveness it inspires. Canadians have a long tradition of social democracy, which Americans have fought tooth-and-nail for decades. F**k 'em. This is OUR country and OUR values. If Canadian voters are flipping the bird to US-style neocons and neolibs (and their Canadian imitators), so much the better. Good on 'em. Jim
