Agreed. That would be entirely stupid. On bulk though...

Since ARM is handling the design parameters, all I see AMD really having to do (materially) is integrate a gpu with an ARM core. The level of effort is dependent on how far they got with this before selling off that portion of ATI to Qualcom.

All I know is, AMD wants to go after this market badly, they probably fired their CEO because he didn't, they don't have a core that can go into tablets/smart phones, they already hired or hiring folks with Droid experience, ARM has the largest device and software base in this segment, and ARM and MS (who just developed an OS for ARM) is speaking at the Fusion conference.

Hmm....
