Jim:

To answer your questions and respond to a statement you made let me say that I am located in Ohio and have had conversations with Canadian physicians who have left Canada in the past two years to practice in the states(no meaningful comments to quote here to you other than if I recall correctly, the cost was an issue to its use up
there).

Though you think my views may be slanted since I am an anesthesiologist and have a practice limited to the operating room, I hope I did not come across that way to you when I reported my story!
I do not own this stock or ANIK or BINX (you get the drift) but since I followed the thread and actually heard SynVisc uttered in what amounts to a small town hospital I was shocked and wanted to report that to the thread. What should have been gleaned from my post boils
down to this (FWIW): 1. the public is asking for it and IS AWARE of it; 2. cost is a problem but:a. hospital/physician/patient can work
together on it to come up with a solution or creative financing; 3.a
novel way to administer the product exists that heretofore I don't
recall seeing mentioned and that is arthroscopically.

Friday was the first use of the product at our institution and it had
to be sent for my courier from Columbus which was 50 miles away to have it available at surgery time. I had the occasion to speak to the
second orthopod last night after spending the evening with friends and
he was unaware of the injection being done yet but was aware of the company and the intent to start doing it. What he said that has me
puzzled though was he did not think his associate had used the product yet so I am not sure how he (the partner) was able to quote $90 reimbursement numbers. I will follow up with this at a later date.

Your thoughts and questions welcome.
Aaron
