Agree that NDP minority govt not good for economy - especially oil and gas sector.

NDP surges typically wilt at the voting booth. Thinking about an NDP cabinet is scary in regard to quality.

I suspect that Ignatieff will support a Conservative government rather than the NDP. Long term the bigger threat to the Liberal party is the NDP rather than the Conservatives.

He would be in a difficult position if the NDP were to win the most seats. Remember that first past the post electoral system and the curious distribution of NDP support make it highly unlikely.

When the current Deputy Leader of the Liberal party was Provincial Premier of the NDP in Ontario and he tried to reflate the economy the bond market put his government in its place in a heartbeat. And they have been in power in Sask and BC with mixed results, although mostly negative.
