I am convinced and agree with Gottfried and you that a second drive to test the Acronis restore is the way to go. Or, if disaster struck I fortunately have RAID which gives me an added comfort level.

BTW, I know many here will disagree with me, but I just renewed a service contract for Dell Pro Support. They have been knowledgeable and quickly responsive. For the few extra bucks it's worth it for me not to have to potentially spend endless hours resolving a problem. It's kind of like insurance that when you don't use it, that's a good thing.
