Snider was nicknamed "the franchise" when he first came up. Great expectations were in place.

This year, Snider, Hill and Lind were supposed to set the pace for the new Jays. Snider, in many plate appearances that I have witnessed, has been badly overmatched by big league pitching. His offensive production was not only not progressing, but seemed to have deteriorated so far his year.

No way Jays could remain competitive in their division without with Snider consistently inconsistent at the plate.

In retrospect, it does appear that Jays brought him along too quickly. I hope Snider can bounce back because he hits the ball harder than most major leaguers. The crack of the ball off his bat is noticeably louder than any other batter that I have witnessed.
