To the best of my knowledge, the answer is no. But don't take that to the bank.

I would try to talk with Adobe direct, but they offshore'd their tech support a couple of years ago, and that dog just won't hunt.

I my experience, Illustrator only opens what's there in a PDF. I have never seen it create that which isn't there.

Wish I could offer more.
