Ray, <<now we really need to hear from Mohan!>>
since you asked me, I think you get a good chance to bail-out of your longs this week. Anticipatory run-up on HWP, AMAT and DELL will creatate an upward bias. But, their conf. calls could be chilly! In December, the earnings warnings will be dire, IMHO! Don't go in to December without unhedged long bets. In the week of Thanksgiving, the down-draft continues. In all, we could see 150 point swings will become normal in the remainder of November and more in December. Every seemingly unimportant news will cause panic selling and panic buying. If it is so, the bear market is confirmed - i.e. within 6 months we will see 20% or more correction.
I don't tink it is over, my friend!
Good luck!
-Mohan

I notice that different things are happening with certain people and that is an interesting clue. Opening up about losses finally. Certain calm people normally discussing whether the emperor is wearing any clothes or not.....:)

That is new right now and I am wondering if it is not an exhale. I think the market may be in a beginning "exhale"....up until now I think many longs/investors/funds- holding--- have been in an" inhale decline."

I view the exhaling by some key people as market indicators.. Like "gee, the worst may be over".....we will see won't we.

I know this post is obscure but just another slant.
