Daniel -

Silence. Then the conversation turned to drivel again...

Lord hopes that things don't get that bad, but certainly the STUPIDITY is there.

I'm sure you've been thru this already... at first you wonder if it's just that you're not explaining the problem clearly, but eventually it dawns on you that the problem is at the receivers end.

Personally I think it's something about being far up the executive food chain... they've probably never done any serious detail work in their entire lives. They're good at "the big picture." Details are for the peons.

I've had plenty of people tell me I'm too involved in the details... well if you don't pay attention to the details, there simply isn't any picture. Period.

A Y2K STRONG BUY RECOMMENDATION

As you know I have been a frequent poster on this board . I have tried to inform others about my Y2K ideas by being unusually detailled about the quantitiative dimensions of my portfolio and the results. While this has irritated some more people have expressed an appreciation of my posting style. I have avoided making investment recommendations except when asked. I currently follow 20 Y2k stocks on a price tracking basis . I try to listen to all the analyst conference calls I can. I listened to the the TPRO call on Friday. I was very impressed and urge everyone to buy some. I have no axe to grind myself as I don't own TPRO. I will buy only 2500 shares at the open myself. I will buy lots more later. This investment will take 6 months to really pay off. I believe IMRS has better short term potential because of the depth of the recent drop.

Check out David Eddy's columns at Westergaard Year 2000 y2ktimebomb.com and my comments this past week (and tomorrow at Westergaard Online http:www.westergaard.com) re the "smirk" problem which drives me up the wall as it does you.

ALL: RE: Smirks headed our way.

Hi Michal! Yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about. When you start talking y2k to non-initiates you get this look like, "you poor pathetic case. So you seemed normal but it turns out you have this oddball quirk."

In my case, this is a reaction I've experieinced even BEFORE y2k issues came up, but we can talk about that some other day. Anyway . . . here's my point:

Can we really blame these folks? A.) If you heard this stuff for the first time, it WOULD seem a bit odd. You know what I mean...a two digit field ending western culture as we know it. and B.) They have to tolerate our missionary zeal, our intensity, and dead certainty. Speaking for myself, I wouldn't want to sit on the other side of the table and listen to ME unload on y2k, especially during a nice dinner party.

Pacem.

OFF TOPIC: Initial diganosis=non dreadful stull. full verdict not in. Best wishes and so sorry to hear of the tragedy that befell your family.
