Zeev:

Sounds like good advice for short term traders on big down days, since AG will be in there buying the spoos. No need to worry on big UP days; they are OK and as American as apple pie! -g-

Any further details on how to watch those ticks? I have Signal data feed and Trade Station, so I can plot them any way I want.
Thanks!

Jack

There is an interesting theory about the Watergate break in. A lot of the experts can't understand why the whole Republican crew would have been so anxious to find out what the Democratic Re-election Committee was up to. It turns that at that time the offices right above the Democrat Re-elect were those of the Federal Reserve. Some think The Plumbers were actually out to plant listening devices in the ceiling so they could get in on the Federal Reserve action.

Zeev: The most interesting way they can manipulate the market is through control of interest rates. The Greenspan model shows the equities (the S&P) are correctly valued now IF interest rates decline AND expected earnings are assumed correct. It also would create less of a problem if demand for bonds ih high at a time when there is a massive selloff of bonds by the Japanese and the gov needs someone to buy them. It doesn't rule out the potential for interest-rate increases in the future, it just solves a lot of short-term problems.
