The Seals within JSOC are the specialists in breaking in grabbing and getting out. Other groups have different specialties (This according to Vince Flynn)

How come did they use SEALs instead of Green Berets?

Fair question. It is not like they had to swim in.

Certain elements of The SEALS have evolved into land based raiders. Raids are a basic Infantry mission. Army rangers are expert raiders and JSOC has plenty of them. Green Berets are expert raiders and JSOC has plenty of them. USMC Infantry are expert raiders and Marine Special Operations Command has plenty of them. All of the above are well qualified for this type of raid, as is every rifle company in the 82nd Airborne Division.

I believe the reason SEALS got the mission is Navy Admiral McRaven is commander of JSOC and he is a SEAL!
