bc,

I've got no comment on that.

But, last night on the news they showed people dancing and celebrating OBL death. And I just thought to myself, god you're stupid.

Like trained monkeys that someone just tossed a doggy treat to.

I'm not surprised. Americans (actually most people) relish in finding a tidy scapegoat to help
relieve them of their angst.

I wish life were that simple.

Personally, I see OBL as an evil man, who rejoiced to see Americans (not soldiers) die.
His goal was to destroy our "way of life" ie, freedom of thought, religion, expression, etc...

Now, should he have been captured, convicted, and tried before being assassinated?

I don't know, it really doesn't bother me that much.

A rhetorical question: Why should he be afforded the "due process" that is the right of citizens of a
free democratic country, when he was diametrically opposed to such a system of government to the
extent that his intent was to assassinate innocent people to advance his objectives?

It was reason to rejoice (though I was more like relieved as the news was stale by the time I heard it). Heck, why not - this man caused untold suffering to numerous lives - both Americans and non Americans. I find it odd that people cannot see reason as to why many were rejoicing. This is definitely one off individual in same league as Hitler, Stalin and other despots. Oh, I forgot that you might find it odd as to why people consider Stalin/Hitler/et al as evil.
