Although IDTC is not a pure internet tel company, we will soon realize that their net phone division is one of the biggest most profitable. Why? Infrastructure. Although you have not read any news lately on the progress of net to phone direct (phone to phone), around Nov 18 we should hear some great news.

Gateway technology will be a dime a dozen in a few months. The money will be made in the operation and not the production of the gateway equipment.

Idtc charges 13c/min for calling cards routed through a gateway via the net and 8c from home or business using a local gateway number. Currently Chicago and Cleavland with more to be announced soon.

Regular long distance is rounded the the nearest 6 sec and is 9.9c/min or 10.9c/min depending of volume any time.

Ron,
CRS has answered most of your questions and I have added a bit more information in my letter to him. I believe that net2phone direct has 25% profit margin and they plan to roll it ouot to all US next year. I am no genius, but nearly everyone I have talked to say that they will use the service as soon as it rolls out to their cities. Save big $$. And the sound quality is first rate.
You can go to their homepage and look through net2phone direct and find a 800 number to call. Or you can call directly to the company to find out 201-928-1000. I might purchase VOCLF after it double bottomed out but since it's making new lows this whole past week I will have to worry about. Just seems that money is getting out of the stock very quickly. It will attract some bargain hunters if it did drop to 15 - 17 range.

good luck,
larry
