It is too bad death photos aren't scratch and sniff or some method which causes the odor of death released. It might keep morbid curiosity to a low.

That is psychological operations (PSYOPS) at work.
We want his followers to believe he was not willing to become a martyr.

The fact is, he is dead. We have no need to lower ourselves by proving it through publication of gruesome photos.

Photos don't "prove" much these days, anyway. And at worst, they'll come off as trophy photos. Not good. Let's hope wiser heads prevail.

the best evidence that he is dead is that he won't be able to put out any videos or voice recordings as proof of his own life.

And the conspiracy theorists will be there with or without photos.

I admit that I have a morbid interest in seeing the photos, but I also admit that it doesn't really serve any meaningful purpose.
