Something doesn't sound right. If the local penile effect is to greatly increase blood flow why the need for any additional stimulation?
This implies an intact neurovascular axis which tells me either the patient suffers from a psychogenic etiology or the level of dysfunction is very slight.
The Pfizer data however states a greater than 50% efficacy in paraplegia.Theoretically neurovascular control should be absent in this group.I find this difficult to reconcile since the need for external stimulation is prominently stated in all Viagra references. On the one hand we are presented with a potent agent with spectacular efficacy so why the need foe external stimulation. If the local affect is as dramatic as stated just taking the pill should do the job regardless of the ED etiology.
