Stun guns often do nothing to the target. If you wound somebody with the ammo we have now, that person is likely to be in shock from loss of blood. I have some rounds called Mag Safe that have a hollow point with little bits of shot inside. Once the hollowpoint penetrates the body, the shot goes on a search and destroy mission for veins and arteries and vital organs. Even without killing somebody, most shots with Mag Safe are one shot stops.

When you face a person with a weapon, your first concern is not in killing them. It is making them stop coming at you with the weapon. There is a true story about a tweaker who grabbed a gun at a police station. He was shot 34 times with 9 mm. and .38 special rounds. He killed 5 cops and wounded several others before he finally dropped dead. Later examination showed that 27 of the bullets would have eventually killed him. But they didn't stop him immediately.

My guess is that a Raid team would have some helacious ammunition. A stun gun is more for "Wild Kingdom." <G>
