Bonnie: great post on the S&P. The more I learn about this game the more I realize I haven't had a clue. Looking at the S&P in the way you describe points out why it is doing so much better than the DOW or the Naz. I was expecting a correction in the divergence between the three and it might not come.

Karl

P.S. In a bull market, then, SPY would be a great long. In a Bear, maybe not the best short. However, I will still use SPY to short when creating "synthetic cash" in my account.

"if you have a profit today, however small, take it now".

That is just what this cowardly bear did Friday morning - or should I say gutless according to Zeev -g-

Bonnie,

You gotta love the futures - a true gamblers paradise:

S&P 500 DEC97 922.00 +280
E-MINI DEC97 932.75 +1350

Short squeeze? 10.75 point difference - they are based upon the same thing - one is bigger and the other smaller. The smaller E-MINI certainly seems easier to manipulate!!!
