Re the "effectiveness" of water boarding and its "value" to getting bin Laden...

KSM was captured March 1, 2003; he was waterboarded 183 times and by golly the information we got was so good we were able to get bin Ladin just 8 YEARS later. This "enhanced" (torture) stuff was so good that even Bush finally gave up on it in 2006.

And this BS from you...

>>" Panetta made clear yesterday, as have others, that the trail began EARLY in the Bush administration. And he REPEATEDLY STATED that there was "no opportunity" since Tora Bora to have captured or killed bin Laden. He stressed this point, over and over again. There was no opportunity because it took years to run down the leads generated by the initial waterboarding/EIT. "<<

Panetta did not "repeatedly state" that there was no opportunity...what he was saying diplomatically was that the CIA stopped looking for bin Ladin because Bush wanted his family revenge in Iraq and we had to divert our attention to Saddam.

>>"On March 13, 2002 then President Bush said, “We haven’t heard much from him. And I wouldn’t necessarily say he’s at the center of any command structure. And, again, I don’t know where he is. I’ll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him. I know he is on the run.” "<<

It took President Obama to get the CIA back on the track of bin Ladin.

How many prisoners were "waterboarded" ie tortured.....? The wingnuts are desperate to claim some credit for Osama's demise.
If the torture was done 8 years ago, why did it take so long to find Osama??
