I do not believe Pentax has fab capabilities. You may be double counting Hitachi, NEC, or Samsung (who do), may supply them OEM. However this projection may be understated. Current digital camera market is 40% USA, 40% Japanese, 20% rest of world. Japanese pay a premium for superior and elegant technology (flash memory) and are rapid acquirers. Currently there is a 6-month lag for cutting edge Japanese products in sufficient numbers in USA because of this. Japanese may pay 50% to 100% more for products than USA. Japanese manufactures can offset development cost in the home market first and debug manufacturing glitches. For instance in video, in Japan, Current camcorder sales are 80% DV (a MPEG video standard) 20% the rest 8mm, hi8, VHS-C, etc. New APS film standard also out sells traditional 35mm in Japan in new camera sales. Japanese also prize compactness and durability. I do not understand IOM thinking there is a market for Clik.
