I would advise everyone to keep close tabs on the Iraq situation. Gulf tensions create uncertainty in oil prices, which have supply side shock ramifications.

Open hostilities there will almost certainly have broad negative impact on the securities markets. Keep in mind that Gulf tensions were very likely a heavy factor in the Oct 87 stock market crash.

Newsweek poll alleges 49% of Americans support military action against Iraq simply because they expelled the US inspectors. It's funny how the Desert Storm success has made the US bloodthirsty once again.
