Look at the pattern Baidu followed in its day; from a hot IPO in 2005 bottoming out in early 2006, and then a just a monstrous tear after that. If Renren were to follow Baidu's pattern; the shorts would stand to do rather well over the first year following the IPO. I am hopeful that Renren will be successful and that it becomes a big player quickly. I've read many good things about the platform. But this is hardly an investment for anyone who isn't up for big ups and downs, or even a total loss.
