Paul; You mean that AMD is acting like Goebbels, with the "big lie", concealing the potential fact that there are no buyers by professing that they are selling all they can make?
Strong stuff, I would not like to be in AMD shoes if that was proven.

I would assume they would use the detailed analyses you suggest, as one hopes they have some smarts to get this far. I would expect them to have a base of knowledge of how all the factors interact, and apply that base for the fine tuning, obviously to run stages in isolation would beat operating the whole string to completion only to find early phase problems. Could they not introduce test pieces(smaller/cheaper, but worked on just the same to vary a parameter fro that piece only?) here and there in the run, and glean feedback from them
