hey brick head, now you admit that zip's sales are impresive. what happened to your arguments a year ago that zip sales were declining?

a year from now when your current bs will be crashed by iomega, you will come up with some other bs.

you are a sorry, useless, imbecile. but don't take it personal because i am only referring to your proven track record.

Rocky you had stated:
"There is a reason why 97% of all new computers sold DO NOT have Zip in them!
Most people have little need for a device that holds more than a few Excel or
Wordperfect files. And, some users do not trust saving too much valuable data on
one source. "

Do you really think people are going to upgrade thier compters to the faster Processor with AGP graphics an 8.4 Gig hard drive and then say "put a floppy in it so it can crawl like a 386" What decade are you living in??? Do you have a computer with a color moitor and other things that people really have no use for. Saving too much information in in source is exactly the reason to have a zip. If people only need it to back a few files than that makes an even stronger case for the Zip instead on Syquest. If you don't need 100 mb why do you need 1 gig Spork drive?? Spork is a day late and a dollar short, nothing like introducing a product the day after the standard is set. If only 3% of computers ship with zips then there is a huge market opportunity for Zip.

regards,
Jeff

>10,000,000 Zips sold is indeed impressive, but compared to the installed base of all computers used in the world, its presence is a small, small percentage, and by no means a "standard."<

...you Rock, you stone, you worse than senseless thing. (my apologies to the Bard)

Iomega is NOW shipping 1,000,000 a month. Production capabilities are growing. MKE and NEC are beginning to make drives. Laptop Zips are now shipping. By this time next year more than 30,000,000 Zip drives will have shipped. And I think I could be low on this number..

Clik will be shipping strongly by this time next year also. Will there be big delays? No. Iomega worked with OEMs this last year to get the drive right and DESIGNED IN to new products.

Rock, I know the only reason you "hang out" on this thread is because you can't shock mama anymore. You're just wrong 99% of the time.

one more thing you sorry ass, you said last year when iomega was at 16 that it would not move up because its pe would have to drop to 20 or less. zack's projected eps for next five years is about 40.

well, its pe remains at 40 while earnings go up, so its price is moving up too.

be sure that next year we will be reminding you of all the stupid things that you are saying right now.

Rocky -

Of course, this argument works against all removable storage devices, not just the Zip. If people don't need this kind of storage, then why it this such a fast-growing product area? Why are so many companies trying to enter it?
