<since this is really out of character for me.>

This understatement rivals the extent of the overstatement of calling Saddam a peace loving "Americaphile"(where is Jim G when you need him to give me the exact word that I am looking for here..and no its not anglophile...that's English)

Tom and Ike, I don't want to take sides here. I agree with what lisa has said about Tom, and I agree with all the others who said Ike is a good natured gentleman who is always willing to help. I personally never feared to bring an opposing point of view to this thread, even when I felt like an unwelcome guest here (actually like an invited guest who was ignored by the group.) -g- Or even if it meant calling Ike's point of view "silly" or "ridiculous" -ggg-
I would like to think that I am a grown-up and I can make rational decisions myself and take personal responsibility for my actions. I still look for thoughts from other thinking heads like Tom and Ike. I don't know if that puts me in the sheep or shepherd category. But Tom and Iqbal, you are both natural leaders. It is common to see two strong heads to have some conflicts. The same strength in them will help patch-up things quickly, which I hope you both will do. Remember, the sheep could use more than one shepherd. -g-
End of my speech! -g-

Re: Rhetoric Wars

The body count continues...

Deja vu... I am sitting in my childhood home, watching the network news (that's how you can tell it's not the current me). Watching those flags with numbers under them: American troops, killed, wounded, and MIA. Same for ARVN, North Viet, and Viet Cong.

At least here, all we're wasting is time, talent, friendship, and goodwill. Perhaps some money, too.

Not directed at you, Tom. This is an old refrain from one of the original (read, "pre-committee") inhabitants of this thread.

Hi Tom,

I have noticed that you have been mentioning my name as one of those who left the thread due to IKE; therefore I feel it is necessary to comment on your statement.

>>>>>>> Don was ridiculed by Iqbal -- with not one person challenging Iqbal for doing so -- and he left the thread.<<<<<<<<<<

Firstly, concerning the comment that Ike originally made, I do believe now that he had no intentions to attack me.

Secondly, I chose to make my exit at that time quietly, but I did make one comment which was similar to one of yours, no need to go into it. I did not want the arguement to continue; but if I had let it all out, there would have been supporters as indicated by the many emails I received supporting me as many understood the real reasons I left. Therefore your comment of >>>>>>>>>>> with not one person challenging Iqbal <<<<<< is not totally correct.

I also chose not to persue the arguement since I did and still believe that Ike is sincere with his efforts to help others. He is also very knowledgable and is unselfish with sharing such with others. I just did not care for the way it was being presented.

Tom, on the Tech Options Thread recently we have had quite a few discussions, and I have noticed that you are an honorable and very decent contributor, and I sincerely respect you for those qualities and your contributions.

As for those who defend IKE, I also respect their positions, but I do need to comment that with one who presents themselves as animated as IKE does, will attract strong criticism when things goes wrong and strong praises when things goes right.

I did decide to return to the IDEAS thread on a limited basis, and still posting my Index Update on both threads, since I was requested by many of my friends I have had the pleasure to meet here.

Well enough said, and I respect you for standing strong on your position and keeping your comments logical.

Donald

Hi Tom. How are you? Several people directed to the conversation you had with Ike, so I read quite a bit of it this morning. I'd like to comment on a particular statement of yours and make something very clear to the people here:

"-the venom with which he attacked Kevin over a difference of opinion, calling him a charlatan and all sorts of names--the type of vindictiveness and nastiness is something that one would never associate with Iqbal--and it does not surface except when one challenges him in direct terms. Well Kevin -- a talented trader-- left the thread."

I did not leave this thread with my tail between my legs (I think that is how Ike described it), and I did not leave this thread because of the words that were used against me by Ike and his loyal followers (as you suggested above and in a couple of other posts). I left this thread merely because a contradicting opinion is not accepted here (which has been proven by me, you, and ana=yone else who tries it) and I do not have time to get into battles over the most minute points.
Example: the size of a futures contract.

With my busy work schedule, I barely have time to trade some days, and I definitely do not have time to argue with Ike, tintin, or anyone else for that matter.

All I want to do is post some good people on SI...people to share ideas with. If someone wants to contradict me...fine. I'll listen to what they have to say...maybe they see something that I've missed. But I want the same in return...someone to listen and accept my contradictions as well. I'm not right all of the time, but that's how we all learn...from discussing our OWN views. I'm sorry to say that I did not find that here, and THAT'S the reason why I do not post here any longer. With the little free time I have, I decided to use it in a more productive way. I trade instead of waste time fighting about whose trades are real and whose are fake. I don't even ask people to post their trades any more. Fact of the matter is, none of it affects my portfolio anyway so why should I care.

I just felt like I needed to explain my reason for not posting here.

The only things I have ever run away from are LARGE dogs :-)

BTW,
>>>Lisa, who has excellent trading instincts--who came to Kevin's defense was castigated by others on this thread for not joining in the attack on Kevin---and she left the thread. <<<
I think you will find that lisa will not be chased from any thread as well.
She's way too stubborn!

Take care!.
Kevin
