Harry, thanks for your support and kind remarks

I guess that I am either thick-skinned or stubborn -- may be both. I am remarkably unfazed by flaming even when it is quite obnoxious. I really wish that those who are pressured to leave a thread don't do so because to leave is giving the pleasure of victory to the flamers.

The ideas thread is a strange one -- it has a certain vibrancy but it also demands complete subservience to the leader of the thread -- even though he suggests that he welcomes dissent. In truth, it is dissent on his terms.

As I posted to Judy, the only thing that, quite honestly, shocked me beyond belief was when it was posted more than once today that someone had been asked to investigate me. What was for me even more mind-boggling was that this investigation was supposed to have been initiated well before this weekend's fracas. My only controversial interaction on that thread was to take issue in a very civil, if pointed manner to certain views that were being expressed by Iqbal. Now for that to be the reason for an investigation of me--in whatever form--is shocking. To me that combined with the intolerance of criticism of the leader, the view by some of the regulars that there is conspiracy against the leader and the thread reminds me of what one usually associates with cults.

Take care
