Mr Charters, if you think you have a process that will extract Au from sea water economically, perhaps you can solve the DD problem (seriously). The concentration of Au in the dirts is higher than sea water, so, it seems plausible anyway, that if Au could be extracted for a profit from ocean water, it could from these desert dirts too. I know you probably don't think so, but would appreciate your comments as to why not.
