In a free market system where all fundamentals are atrocious and the outlook for all fundamentals is even worse, equities would get crushed. That's just basic Business Economics 101.

That didn't happen because the Federal Reserve bought stocks, the U.S. government bought stocks, and the Federal Reserve printed money that the U.S. Treasury distributed to corporations to buy back their own stocks and infuse back into the failed system.

In a fascist system, state and corporate powers merge and take care of themselves at the expense of taxpayers, which is what happened and continues to happen.

In a capitalist system, numerous banks and corporations would have failed in 2008 and 2009. Newer corporations would have evaluated what went wrong, made corrections, and filled the void for the demand of products and services. Equity markets would have rebounded off their lows and a natural new growth trend would have commenced.

Instead, abject failure was rewarded and the dead bastards were zombified as the largest banks and corporations called in favors to Congress and the WH.

Very grave crimes were committed and continue to be committed.
