I can understand the reaction a little better on the AMLN thread since there the bad news would immediately affect the stock price, as in fact it soon did. As for the AGPH response, it is more difficult to understand. The stock is doing well and viracept sales will continue to skyrocket.

While emerging resistance of the virus to protease inhibitors and the cocktail is clearly a setback, it was expected by many who were familiar with the exceptional ability of the virus to mutate.

I guess there are a few people who simply cannot accept anything which does not fit into their game plan. And others who are jealous of those who understand the science, but to lazy too do the work to understand it themselves.

And of course as Bev said, there are those malcontents with perennial personality problems, looking to disrupt threads where people have formed congenial relationships.
