"the guy is a devout Left wing Liberal, Pacifist, UC Berkley typical devotee of Lets All Dance Around the Maypole Ideology."

Really now! I was one of those student activists in 1967-8 at Berkeley though not a student there. I used to help organize large anti-Vietnam war protests at that time. We accomplished something that hasn't been duplicated since, we destroyed Nixon's and LBJ's war. That's the short story. One of the proudest days of my life I must say. It showed that the American fascist war machine CAN be stopped but alas today in 2011 we have Americans who are too cowardly to go out and stand up against the storm troopers...very sad, America is finished now, militarily, financially and morally.

The long story is how we purposely planned and caused a riot at The Century Plaza Hotel when LBJ was there for a fund raising dinner.

"Vietnam Protest Turns Violent; Changes Antiwar Movement"

latimesblogs.latimes.com

I was there along with Mohamed Ali, another organizer (not common knowledge) and 20,000 others. The hotel is on the Century City - Beverly Hills border which was 2 blocks from my house. As parents of local west side kids watched them getting pushed, jabbed and sometimes hit in the head with batons, the phone calls started coming into the Beverly Hills Police. They showed up and formed a line of motorcycles right on the border. The I saw something firsthand that I'm sure no one would have imagined would ever happen. As the LA Police were chasing us I thought to myself 'we're doomed' as I saw the line of BHPD officers and then all of the sudden as we approached them (we had no choice) they waved us through and actually prevented the LAPD from following us into Beverly Hills.

A few months later LBJ announced that he would not run again.

"Johnson rarely campaigned in public again, except for appearances at safe places like military bases. Within nine months, opposition to the war grew so strong that he shelved his reelection campaign. White liberals in Los Angeles, meanwhile, began to complain about excessive force by the LAPD

His purse strings were cut by the people of Beverly Hills as a result of the police attacking us. I helped change history and hopefully saved some lives of unwilling draftees, who knows.

This would never happen today as the USA is now a total police state starting to resemble Stalin's Russia and Hitlers' Germany.
