Yeah, politicians, bureaucrats and lawyers will not step back from the bread basket willingly. It may take a disaster. But... a once in a while shakeup must be inevitable. Over time, a variety of regulators keep pumping out their "products", for decades and centuries.... ultimately the cumulative effect is bound to become quite deadening.
