Smirkers and cowards and you're right just waiting for the chief to say it is ok to go on a killing spree. After all they're just ordinary fellows with no right to question orders. I know an old youth for Hitler and I was always under the impression he was waiting for de Führer to issue a proclamation to resume as he never really believed his guardian angel was dead.
