Well that dedicated money certainly went in part for senseless empire building and making narcissitic leaders feal really important and powerful. Those stuck with the bill don't get the services they paid for and were promised and fools continue to reelect such fools again and again and again. It's all hopeless without better checks and balances. An honest monetary system would be great for starters.
