>> With gas at $4 a gallon, oil at $100 a barrel and profits at near-record levels, it is hard to feel sympathy for the oil industry.

This is one big witch hunt.

The oil companies are taxed out the ass -- taxes on gas at the pump are 6x what the oil companies MAKE off a gallon of gas. I cannot imagine what you're complaining about.

Why SHOULDN'T oil company profits be at "near record" levels? The amount of oil we consume is at "near record" levels.

The lies by the Democrats about nonexistent "subsidies" are typical demagoguery and the American public is totally sucked in by it. And you're right on board with the rest of the nitwits.

We have a corporately captured country, and, although their current party of choice is the (R)'s, too many (D)'s are captured as well.

Before we gave them the status of people, we should have considered that corporations have no "conscience" division, and feel no guilt. They exist only to make profit. The humans that serve them come to that as well, struggling to rise. Too many will ignore their humanity to pursue the corporate goals.

This is a disease of the free enterprise capitalist system, It's very successful, and is spreading around the globe.
