Hi Goldiger,

The main reason for Inco taking control of DFR Voisey's Bay was to secure what was suggested to be the lowest cost nickel production available in the world. The strategy was to ensure low cost production in a competitive low price environment.

World production therefore was not part of the equation, what it meant was that (as Saudi Arabia (oil) knows and Saskatchewan (Uranium) knows) when everyone falls by the wayside during periods of price downturn, we'll still be making a profit and we'll still be here when the price turns up.

regards, Terence Mitchell
