.. I've never heard you advocate conservation...... I advocate individual freedom, which would include the freedom to conserve energy if one chooses to do so. For example, if Al wants to live in a 5,000 s/f mansion, wasting untold amounts of energy, he should be free to do so as long as he pays his utility bills. Of course, he is a hypocrite when he complains about other people's energy use. Just as you, a Medicare Advantage subscriber, are when you complain about the subsidy you receive as a result of it. "The oil companies are taxed out the ass " They're also subsidized out the ass and make profits out the ass..... Well, yes, they make profits -- after all, five oil companies sell just about all the oil that is sold in this country. It would not be a good thing if they weren't make a profit. However, the government "profits" 5-6x as much off a gallon of gas as any oil company does. And that isn't even counting the income taxes paid by oil companies.
