As a BIOX stock owner I was a bit concerned to see this news. The
competition will be a factor. We still don't have a clear view of which
product is better (high or low molecular wt? better mechanical action?
fewer adverse reactions?) if either truly is.

One thought about Zimmer is that they are very big in ortho appliances
(joint replacement etc) and their contacts will be great with ortho
surgeons. I hope that BIOX and WA will have good coverage there also but
will be even stronger in the medical specalists (internal med, family
proctice and rheumatology) where Synvisc might be a great addition to
their care. Surgeons still like to DO surgery. Although they will use
these products more patients in the hands of surgeons are going to end
up getting surgery.
